OTI Facilitators

Atieno Bird

Attention, intuition, love, possibility. Atieno brings her whole self into the room as a facilitator. Using her training as a Certified Psychodramatist, she looks for ways to follow participants' unfolding processes, meeting them where they are with acceptance and collaboration. Using Appreciative Inquiry, she looks for strengths to build on. As a Certified Professional Coach, she invites participants to ask what's possible in the future. Atieno's education at the Master's level included nonviolent communication, group dynamics, conflict resolution, efficient meetings, Restorative Justice, and Open Space Technology. Atieno has collaborated with Nikki Weaver in offering annual Women's Circles in gorgeous locations around the world and now serves as a Facilitator for On the Inside. Time with women coming together to heal on the inside, on the inside, is precious to her. Atieno lives in an old farmhouse in the Blue Ridge with her husband, two children, and canine bff.

Nikki Weaver

Playful. Honest. Curious. Nikki is an innovative creator and passionate communicator, driven by a desire to understand other points of view. She brings a deep sense of listening, curiosity and an open heart to any team she is a part of. She believes in empowering women through connection to our bodies, each other, and our spirits. After losing her mother at the age of ten and moving to Australia ten days later, Nikki began to look for her mother in other women. This body of work stems from her mother’s work of working with incarcerated men in the state of California. Nikki holds a B.F.A. from The Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts and an M.F.A. from George Washington University and The Shakespeare Theatre. Her toolbox is filled with being a yoga teacher, a massage therapist, reiki practitioner, meditator, a mom to two wild girls, and a partner that surprises her every day. She has facilitated circles for ages 4-80-year-olds, offering mindfulness and creativity practices. Nikki loves to stand on her head, running at sunrise (23 marathons to boot!), getting creative with her kids and family, and creating national and international wellness retreats. To be on the inside in circle with women has been the biggest gift of her life. It is where all the walls come down. A co-founder of Portland Playhouse, Nikki is the Founder of On The Inside. Welcome!

She has been sharing her faith and wellness journey and providing lifestyle education on her award-winning blog, FaithFueled Mom, for over six years. Jennifer Chapman

Creative. Enduring. Hopeful. Jen’s passion for the arts became evident when she earned a degree in dance in 2000. Her greatest desire was to be a mother, and that blessing was granted in 2007, again in 2009 and…surprise! 2013.She has also been a coach and judge for USA Gymnastics and currently works with competitive gymnasts on the dance and presentation in their routines. Jen has served as a certified substitute teacher for the Wyoming Board of Education and as the Arts Director for the Boys and Girls Club on the Big Horns. She became a certified yoga instructor in 2022 in hopes of deepening her own practice while encouraging others to do the same. Life has a way of knocking us off our feet, and certainly did so in Jen’s case when she was on foot and hit by an 18-wheeler in 2018. Just two years later she was arrested on a subsequent DUI charge, becoming one of over two million people incarcerated in the United States (a “credential” she never imagined she’d obtain). Through this experience, her eyes have been opened to so many stories and the reality of living life as a number…. #3462. On the Inside is one place that she feels valued as a human; others honor her input, and they trust her with the most vulnerable parts of their own lives. (In these rooms we aren’t numbers.) Jen chooses to continue working with On the Inside while on the outside because she still has much healing to do. Here, she is offered another path to finding stillness within that which is honest and real and a chance for her experiences to be used for the good.

Caroline Cox

Imaginative. Survivor. Tenacious. Caroline grew up in Lane County after her family moved from southern California at age 2. She has battled many forms of trauma and those experiences led her to addiction and incarceration. When she was incarcerated she decided it was time to face herself and her trauma and began working vigorously to unlearn the tactics that once served her. Ultimately her life experiences led her to work with On The Inside as a project manager and facilitator. Currently outside of facilitating in womens prisons she runs a bi weekly support group for anyone navigating the system. Outside of her work with On The Inside she is a mother to 3 children and a partner of 10 years. Caroline loves to garden, or do anything creative. She believes creativity can heal herself, and the world.
